Visitor Policy
This is a question we get all the time. I know everyone wants to come cuddle newborn babies but there are many things people dont think about! It is not surprising given the number of “what to do when buying a dog” websites that advocate for visiting the breeder and meeting the puppy parents before purchasing a puppy or getting on a Waiting List. The problem with these sites is their priority is the buyer, not the health and safety of the puppies or the breeder. Below are the reasons we don’t allow visits from families even that have placed a deposit. First and foremost we don't know where you and your family have been. Parvovirus is a fast and deadly killer. Puppies and un-vaccinated dogs are most susceptible to it. It is highly resistant and can live on many surfaces for long periods of time including shoes, clothing, and any floor. This means you can innocently pick up Parvo just from running to the grocery store or a school. Parvo can kill an entire litter in less than 48 hours. Puppies immune systems are building during this time which is why we keep them in our home away from outside traffic. We also want to protect mama and the environment she is in. Bringing visitors in disrupts our normal day to day routine which can be hard on both mom and pups. These mamas are protective during this time and this puts a lot of stress on them. Some people want to visit puppies in person to pick which one will fit their family best. I assure you this is a 24/7 job and I know each and every puppy better than anyone. We spend countless hours socializing and loving on them in the 8 weeks they are with us. These puppies have their forever homes before they are born and I am just their caretaker until they are old enough to leave. It is my responsibility to protect them and unfortunately this is the safest way for me to do so. I will take pictures and videos to keep everyone involved in our day to day life with them until they are with you!
